I don't know if this really IS news, considering I have a habit of missing all the important shit but this is from the 25 January 06 Kotaku update :
http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/konami/silent-hill-psp-and-others-make-konamis-06-list-150769.php
A lot of the titles have already been announced so there isn't much new there, but it's uh... their entire 2006 lineup! Most importantly :
Silent Hill Experience (working title)
Release date: Spring 2006
Genre: Multimedia
Platform: PSP system
Unique among all PSP system products available on the market, The Silent Hill Experience combines a variety of media – comics, music and movies – to deliver a complete behind-the-scenes look at the popular Silent Hill franchise. Using an intuitive 3D interface, Silent Hill fans will be able to view all-new digital interactive comics, listen to music from the long-running series of Silent Hill video games, and watch exclusive video content, including an interview with the director of the highly-anticipated Silent Hill motion picture.
I've heard nothing about this but it sounds uh... odd and probably crap. Reminds me of that Prince multimedia game. |

And Atlus, right?
Also, what was that NES game you made a detailed post about last year? Wasn't it for FKW? Should that be our ICGC FKW Edition game? |

Ah yes possibly Atlus. I remembered there was a new one since a few months ago, but couldn't get the name out of my failing memory. Also the game you think about might be Getsufuumaden. It was the Deathnote scanlation part of Quite an Orange Konami Week.

Dude, I tried to gay up Soma Cruz and I just couldn't. I gave him a daisy. I changed the sword into a dildo. I put a rainbow in the background. Nothing made him gayer than the picture was already. |

That's another reason why I love my avatar, I'm already set for FKW... :P
(And just think, two weeks (or so) afterward, and beatmania US rolls out... and SuperNOVA sometime after that.)
EDIT: Speaking of DDR:SN, I'll probably be playing a ton of DDREX2 to practice.

Nice to see it's still around somewhere. I thought it was lost in the depths of the internet.

| So last night I purchased Getsufuumaden. It was $7! I hope to have and play it durring FKW'06. I played it shortly after FKW'05 and had fun with it, but I never take emulation seriously. I remeber getting ... lost! Yes. Also, I forget how playable this game will be with no Japanese language skills. |

Really nice. Freeman should definitely use it. Here's my take on the FKW'06 logo, with the help of my neighbour (thanks Hervé):
I hope you guys don't find it too boring. I wanted the logo to almost feel like an official Konami logo, or at least genuine enough to look legitimate at a first glance. Here is a Zip with the PDF, illustrator and BMP files of both the vertical and horizontal versions. |

| Well, we were trying to get as close as possible to the original Konami font, but feel free to edit and submit your own version if you think there's a better thing to do. I also hesitated to do something different in the orange and red waves (such as Japan in one and Konami characters in the other), but I was afraid it would brake the "simetry" aspect. We have still ten to twelve days to go before starting the FKW, so anyone can update that logo if they think there's something better to do with it... |

Here's a preview of my version. I threw on a black background for fun but I can produce a similiar white one. Just thought the scheme would be more ic friendly:

You know what I just thought would be cool (which, most likely I am wrong)? If someone did the walking konami man thing from PS/SAT game intros, but when he hits the center of the screen he turns and flicks everyone off and shouts "FKW'06!"
Not like I would even know how to go about that... |

I don't have Illustrator (or any other vector program) currently installed, but I have something else: the KONAMI font, better known (?!) as Univers Black 75:
(Well, not quite THE font, as Konami customized it a bit, making the edges of the capital O a bit more straighter, but...)
Although I must admit that Arial/Helvetica might even look better, since it isn't so bold. I'll leave it up to the designer to decide which to use.
Grab it here. Open font piracy is a bit of a touchy subject to me, but this is a special occasion, so I'll let it be. I hope Adrian Frutiger forgives me :(
I might be able to scrap together enough material to present a small summary of the various typefaces Konami has used and maybe some general comparisons of logos used in games.
Edit: I find the logo itself excellent, by the way.
Edit-2: The boldness kept bugging me, so...
And

Well, the main purpose would be to look striking, and B Coma's version does win, since Univers doesn't flow that well on multiple lines (look at how assy the Konami Sports Series logo looks, for example). Also the capital G of Univers doesn't fit at all, too curvy. So, yeah.
Anyway, a different pitch:
Familiar? That's the modern Metal Gear Solid typeface, a condensed build of everyone's favourite Helvetica. I really like the last one, but using this typeface would be too specific. |

I have a new avatar lined up, a sig banner (!), and my God a horribly dense fanfiction that will make you all cry. Not in a good way!
The ColecoVision has been collected and tested, and Frogger is go! The ink ribbon on the printer even still works. |

You should all see my recreation of a piece of Castlevania art I'm doing. It's done in the style of stuff like this only it's about three to four times more kickass and not done in MS Paint. It happens to be wallpaper-sized to boot.
