Why do I keep getting you two confused? I think it's the vaguely similar color schemes of your avatars.
That and the fact that Persona drew them both. |

And that we were both changed FOREVER by meeting Tim.
I really regret not getting a picture of us together. Exspecially as I am now, because BOY I am be a changed man, not just because of that 108 fella either. |

Somehow I get the feeling it's gonna be Snake's Revenge, LOL.
(awesome FKW banners, btw... especially the MGS-looking ones.)

My guess
Also, I'm very close to having all the shit I need for FKW '06.
I think that I'm going to sit down and finally beat Legend of the Mystical Ninja to celebrate. Yet another one of those Games That I Failed to Beat as a Kid. |

You should all see my recreation of a piece of Castlevania art I'm doing. It's done in the style of stuff like this only it's about three to four times more kickass and not done in MS Paint. It happens to be wallpaper-sized to boot.
Also, someone here needs to get a Solid Snake mullet for the duration of FKW. |

I have some things in the works for FKW still. I hope I don't keep putting them off like last year. I barly did anything last year and what I did do was underwhelming.
Are we going to get a FKW '06 forum again? |

This isn't really a Konami game, but it's close enough to be valid material for FKW.

I demand that you all play La Mulana. It's a doujin game that's a free-roaming platformer made to look like a game for the old MSX computer. The developer is obviously a huge Konami fan, given that he swiped the old logo and put "(C) KOBAMI 2005" on the game-related material. He even made up a manual for the game that looks completely authentic for the period. The game has a distinct Castlevania feel, as you start out with a whip, and you have to use the same sorts of timing tricks to beat enemies. The structure is sort of like the old Vampire Killer, really, mixed with some more recent ideas.
The only trouble is that the text is in Japanese. There are some NPCs that give you specific things to do, and it can be a little difficult to navigate at the beginning if you don't know the language. You'll miss incidental messages left here and there, too. It can be figured out pretty well with trial and error, though.
The download is here: http://naramura.kdn.ne.jp/msx3/g3project/lamulana/lamulana.zip
The Underdogs have a text file with the basics on getting started: http://files.the-underdogs.org//games/l/lamulana/files/lamulana.txt |

| Anyone know a site with a decent collection of Konami sprites? I had one, but I lost it last year when my firefox blew away all of my bookmarks. I ask because I need a good sprite of Goemon, and ripping one from ZSNES is not as easy as I would have expected it to be. |

So...
I have Enthusia. I also picked up WE9. And Castlevania of various shapes and sizes will carry me through other times.
Gradius V might just have to be there in the clutch if my trigger finger gets to itchin'.
Given that this is the first FKW I am actually participating in, I'm pretty fucking pumped. |

Gradius V is pretty much the only Konami game I have in my collection that I haven't played much of, so it's gonna be all that for me! Unless I continue trying to get all the dog tags in MGS2S.
Note: I refuse to start SH4 without beating SH3, and I didn't have fun playing SH3.
Note, Again: Getting all the different modes of CV CotM is boring. |

| Gradius V will serve you well. Even if you are good at shmups (something I can get to, but never start at), it will keep you going for quite some time. And it is sexy. |

You know, I was doing the same thing about 6 months ago, before my current work project started kicking me in the nuts. I didn't get very far at all, I'd only just made it into the school.
Even playing in my office, with the lights on, with tons of people around, didn't make it very easy to play. I'd often have to Pause the game, turn the TV off and breathe for a while before I was able to pick it back up.
Maybe I'll try and play through it again. See how far I get. |

So.
For FKW, I would like to upload some of the much rarer Konami albums and such. Therefore, can anyone point out a good file hosting service akin to yousendit/rapidshare, but......you know, not as known/anal? Please? Even foreign language ones will do, as long as I can upload ~70mb rars.
Also, I'm considering recording some footage of some Konami games as played on my computer. Any suggestions, especially in terms of codecs? |
