Argh, the dreaded introduction post. What to say?
ASL = 19, male (big surprise), Europe
I'm a student, double-majoring in law and philosophy. I also work part-time as a teacher to finance myself.
I used to play lotsa videogames as a kid but now I don't really have the time, nor the money (I prefer to spend it on going out with friends/girlfriends). I still love 'em though, because <cliché> I believe they are/can truly be a form of art of their own </cliché>. To give you an idea, the last console I bought was a Dreamcast.
I was also pretty big on anime/manga (although never to an otaku level), but then again, because of time/money constraints, I haven't kept abreast of things: again, to give you an idea, I own all of Cowboy Bebop but haven't watched a single ep of Samurai Champloo. I took Japanese for a year but since I never went to class all I can muster is hello/goodbye.
Hmm, what else? I'm a culture freak. I love all arts and have very eclectic (but elitist) tastes. In music, I can rave about Wagner, Pearl Jam and Coltrane equally. I don't spend nearly enough time reading. Etc etc.
I'm also a politics freak. And pretty conservative, too.
So there you go. Was that right? |

Hello,
I’m new; I’m unlikely to ever have anything interesting or witty to say but I’m still gonna post here anyways! Ha!
So just a heads up…
Yep, errmm I like all the normal stuff; videogames, anime, porn…
Hmm. Guess you might get a few lurkers turn into posting people around e3 time. Fun fun huh! Oh well. |

Hey I'm James. I'm 23.
I like Eric-Jon's writing a lot. Also Dessgeega's. Tim is Ok too!
Right now I think my favorite games are Starfox 64 and Link's Awakening. I didn't like Killer 7. I loved SOTC. Lately I've been playing a lot of Mr Driller A and Gunstar Super Heroes. My favorite Metroids are II and Fusion.
I have a blog here, where I mostly talk about animation since I'm an animator.
Um... I can almost one credit Metal Slug 1. Oh yeah, and americans seem to find this funny: I used to work on those toilet paper commercials with the creepy bears that crap in the woods. |

Sup James. Yeah, I remember NTSC, that place went downhill FAST. I blame old John Babaloo, that guy was a power mad control freak, prone to bouts of senseless insanity. And then Marcus gave him the site.
What have you been up to, you old scoundrel? |

I went back to wales and finished my BA and them Master's degree. The second year there I lived in Cardiff! Cardiff is kind of like NTSC-UK: The City. It has about 4 giant sports venues and no art galleries. Well, there's a couple but they're no bigger than my toilet.
While I did my Master's I did a bunch of freelance animation work for various companies, coming in and doing matting for a week or whatever. This gave me me a good insight into the UK animation industry... i.e. there isn't one... so now I'm learning Maya so I can have some CG stuff for my showreel, and apply to some games companies.
Hey remember Boog? He's working for Sumo Digital now! They handled the Xbox conversion of Outrun 2, I think. He emailed me about that on the eve of my moving from Cardiff, too, which felt like a good omen.
Anyway, the quicker I get this Maya showreel finished the quicker I can move out of my Dad's house and be a high roller like teh Boog. Can't wait. |

Wow, how things have changed and moved on. I feel like I'm in one of those American coming-of-age films, with Fred Savage, and we're all like old and hagard now.
Congrats on getting your masters degree. Dang, you and Boog really grew up and went far in life, huh? Don't forget us little guys once you reach the top, 'kay Jamphy?
I kinda... went through two corporate bankruptcies in the space of 6 months, and am now stuck writing for crappy games mags.
Anyway, personally speaking, I can't wait for aliens to invade, so we can all get drafted and I can win me some medals! Intergalactic war sure as hell beats writing for a living! |

Hey, I joined these boards afew months back. However, I got really rapped up with school and only poster like 5 times...
So lets consider this my real true introduction.
I live in Houston TX, attend community college, and drink an abundant amount of TaB. I watch alot of movies, listen to alot of music, and play a moderate amount of video games. I play expirimental music (I am totally incapable of playing any instruments in a conventional manner) with my own handmade elctronics and a beuatiful Moog Etherwave Theremin. I also write and paint, but since it is only to amuse myself, I destroy my results upon completion .
Did I mention i love TaB? |

Was that pun intended?
Also, do you mean TaB "the nasty cola" or TaB "the wacky energy drink"? |

Thanks for the positive remarks hot stott bot.!
And by TaB I mean the nasty cola. When I first drank it I thought it was disgusting, however I was thourougly addicted to the can so I forced myself to keep drinking it. After afew months I grew to really like it, now its my drink of choice. I know the bitter after taste of sacherine doesnt suit most people but theres something really nice about it; especially since the aftertaste sticks in your mouth for so long. |

This account is the result of being forced to watch those damned Sony E3 conference summary videos far too many times.
I am not to blame.
YouTube is.
And possibly Wilkes.
Anyway, I'm not sure what I'm doing on this forum.
-I've never played KoF or Metal Slug.
-I can't beat the third stage of Ikaruga (with three continues and five lives per continue...on easy).
-I'm too cheap to buy MGS3.
-However! I do enjoy a good Mother 2 or Metroid discussion.
So there you have it! |

Hi all! I'm a 21 male student in the north-east of america. Been gaming since I was 8. Started on PC, then NES, SNES, PSX, DC, PS2. Filled in the gaps with emus and second hand stuff later.
I complain about how there aren't enough point and click adventures, turn based squad tactics, and non-sandbox computer RPGs. I like experimental games and using phrases like interactive performativity (coined a good friend) when discussing ludology. Sometimes I enjoy a game qua game. That ranges from shmups, fighting games (2d only, plz. 3s preferred), to ddr.
Kojima and Ueda are probably my favorite devs now. GoW bored me, and I won't play another FPS unless some new gameplay comes along.
I'm a vegan and somewhat of an environmentalist. Music and visual arts appeal to me, though I am much better at consuming than producing them. Minimalism, drone, psych/stoner, classical (particularly baroque), and folk art are some of my favorite.
My father is Japanese but I look almost totally white.
Oh yeah, I'm a fan of Jerkcity & Leisuretown. |

Hey there.
I'm a 25-year-old male who lives in a clean little city in East Central Minnesota. I used to lurk around here a lot, and had an account by the name of Phonbu. I also briefly appeared in IRC. I created this new account in anticipation of the purchase of a computer of my very own.
With the help of my best friend, I was able to attend E3 2004 and met 108 on Day 2, and was disappointed to be unable to meet other ICers on Day 3. I recently attended the 2006 Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival with this same friend.
My favorite games include Super Metroid, Vagrant Story, the Megaman Legends series, and the Metroid-style Castlevania titles. Most recently, I've enjoyed Dragon Quest VIII, Shadow of the Colossus and Steambot Chronicles. I'm eagerly awaiting the releases of Final Fantasy XII, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I also play Animal Crossing: Wild World, mostly to make patterns based on other games.
I have written a few game reviews for a friend's site, but I don't think they're much good. They're certainly not of the New Games Journalism style. (They're probably not even journalism.) I'd like to become a better writer. While the idea of New Games Journalism is fascinating, I don't think it's my style.
This time, I hope to contribute something to the IC community, rather than just nod or shake my head at other peoples' posts. Please look forward to it. |

greetings to everyone, and all that.
run o' the mill college grad, boring job, all that. from rhode island. most of my exposure to IC comes through deusjester, who i've known for a while, and i won't saying anything INFLAMMATORY about him. here, at least.
other than that, big on the japanese (was my major), lately ive been letting various source engine shooters suck up my time, as well as my 360. i play the ff xi, and the guild wars. i played the WoW, but it isnt really my jam.
there is more, i could rant about my worrisome lust for myst-style adventure games etc, but whatever.
nice to be meeting! |

I broke my promise to never post in this thread; I guess it's ok though. I mean, I haven't really introduced myself or anything; never will.
Hm. ipod thread... I need a DS lite thread first -- comes out in, what? Two days? Hell. Can you make that? Talk about the Nintendo restrictive release policy set against the US because of NoA's early lack of faith in the DS hardware I talked at you about. Right?
Right.

Hello. It's me.
I don't like:
* The phrase "bang for your buck".
* Elves.
* The proper noun "buckyball".
* The word "gastronomy" or any derivations thereof. Sure, it's a portmandeau of "gastro" and "astronomy" - but it has nothing to do with astronomy!
* Suffering.
* The Fire/Ice/Lightning damage type trinity. Someone should research why every jRPG in the entire universe absolutely must contain all three of them in some form or another.
* The initialism "LOL".
I like:
* The word "portmandeau".
* NetHack.
* Irony.
* Donkey Kong Country.
* Uncyclopedia. |

Just thought I'd pop in and say a quick hello.
I discovered Insertcredit earlier and started reading through the forum and seems a pretty nice place.
It's great to see a place which understands fuck is a valid word and games don't revolve around FMV.
So really thats my hello and a brief suck up so I don't get jumped by rabbid midgets named Alfred.
Persona - Do you think that hero has a womble on his head or just a really poorly drawn hair cut? I always wonder where they all went once Wimbledon was discovered to be their home. |

I've been lurking for a long while, but Persona finally convinced me to get my ass into registration at AX2006.
There's not much to me. I like games, draw a lot, and am broke because I was retarded enough to accidentally lose over 140 bucks at AX.
And I do believe that Killer7 is an awesome game, so whatever. |

Hello friends.
I'm Steve, a 21 year old English student in the UK. I enjoy shmups and stuff. I've lurked for quite a while, enjoying the sense of humour and writing.... umm....
That's about all I can think of as far as an introduction goes. I hope that was interesting. |

This is me basically.
I am 18, female and currently out of school but working.
I enjoy alot of things, namely video games, drawing and I read ALOT of books. Suggest a book to me get me interested and I'll end up reading the book, same thing with games (except I play them, I don't read them...unless you have to read them...er I think you know what I mean!)
I dislike very few things and I am a spazz. :o
AND THAT WAS ME IN A NUTSHELL. |
