You have three hours to argue over a game. At the end I will lock the thread and decide which game we play.
GO! |

I bought that game a long long time ago.
I never bought a Genesis, though, so I never actually played it. :( |

Hmmmm....
I vote for Enthusia or WE, since those are what I will probably be playing.
I have and am not adverse at all to playing:
SH 1-3
Gradius V
MGS2:S (shitty xbox edition)
Castlevania CotM, AoS, DoS, and Symphony
MGS VR Missions (should totoally be on PSP already, come on Konami)
Probably some more, but I can't think of them right now. |

I thought we could only recommend "*cough*downloadable*cough*" games for ICGC?
Also, we already did MGS:GB for an ICGC and it was terrible. |

and
I'm going to be playing WE9 regardless. We've got a WC set up in the office with 20 people taking part. It won't finish during FKW, which is too bad. |

We should pick very soon. The last time it took time to make a decision, it was like five days.
Bloodlines seems to be the favorite thus far. |

Do you have the PS2 version and a Network Adapter? If so, we can try and figure out how to play on teh online, if that's possible.
However, I will definitely post a "How to Play Winning Eleven Scrub-Style" essay at some point during FKW. |

sadly, i dont have a net adapter yet. this will be remedied.
And yeah, i would love a scrub guide. Hell, i would love a scrub guide to soccer as a whole. The sad thing is, I think I get the Offside rule, which the game makes out to be really complicated. I mean, I couldnt be a ref or nothing, but I havent gotten it called on me in awhile. |

It's not so much complex as it is unintuitive. And it actually works a lot better in videogames than it does in real life!
Offside rule:
You are in an offside position if you have less than two players from the opposite team between you and the line on their end of the field.
There's nothing wrong with being in an offside position, unless something happens to cause you to take advantage of that position.
The most typical case of this is receiving a pass that was made when you were in an offside position. The awkward wording is because it doesn't matter where you receive the pass, it matters where you were when the ball left the foot of the person making the pass. If you're in an offside position, that will get called. If you weren't and you then run into an offside position, then you're fine!
Additionally, the pass has to be going forward. If it's to the side or behind of the player making the pass, it can't be offside. You also can't be in an offside position in your half of the field.
I really love that they will let play go for a while and call offside late sometimes. |

Yeah, I get the offside thing. We does a really good job of this, and even gives you that instant replay graphic when it happens.
What I don't get is any of the strategy involved in soccer at all.
I have become way too used to American sports like baseball and football, where there is a clear set beginning of a play and the end. Soccer doesn't do this as much, and I can really appreciate it. I mean, i love me some arcade soccer goodness (Soccer Slam, Mario Strikers) but the sim stuff is a little foreign to me. |

Here's where I stand:
1. I'd perfer it not be a castlevania game.
2. If it's silent hill, please make it the first.
3. If it's metal gear, make it a 2D title (Ghost Babel included/perferred) or the thrid in the series.
4. If it's Gradius, I don't care.
5. If it's Winning Eleven, well, don't pick Winning Eleven.
6. Unless you want to.
7. I guess Winning Eleven doesn't bother me, I have to buy it, though.
8. A purchase I probably wouldn't regret.
9. Goemon would be a refreshing choice.
10. Though, not really welcome.
11. Remember, only 2D metal gear titles.
12. and no castlevania.
13. thanks.
14. Well, contra would be mean of you.
15. amirite
16. DDR lolz
17. amirite
18. I could deal with Shinobi.
19. not with Suikoden, though.
20. ZOE is a good choice
21. The first and the second.
22. Snatcher would also be acceptable.
23. That's it.
24. I guess.
EDIT:
Gaiden: Well, Bloodlines is okay.
Gaiden2: Seeing as I have it already. |

Snatcher was done last year.
Also, how ever many people have not played Silent Hill one yet just really need to.
I always had the impression that ICGC was to find out about new or have an excuse to hunt down rare games that most people have not played or ignored. I don't know. Perhaps I was way off, but I would rather play a Konami game that I don't know much about and talk about its merits with other people who are mostly fresh on the idea than have the Nth discussion on MGS.
Also, Ghost Babel is no good, for real, we already did it too. Rud13 knows! |

Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa
So, apparently between the original Disk System release and the later Famicon port by Konami, it was pirated and released as "Mario Baby." I think this is the cartridge for the pirated version. (I can't read a lick of Japanese...)
Edit: I realize that Phoenix Rie's link had a ton info about Bio Miracle, I'm not trying to take cerdit for that info, but it was fairly brisk on the topic of the pirated game: "(also known as Babyland or, inexplicably, Mario Baby [???])" and so I just curious if there's some additional data about the "Mario Baby" and that cartridge label. |

I'm about to finish Castlevania 4, so Bloodlines would be kind of cool...
...Though it would also be fun to play something less known (assuming I can acquire it without leaving my appartment, or spending any money)

I'd do Bloodlines. Or SH1. Been a while, and I just got it back from my friend who's borrowed it three times. I should just buy him one.
How 'bout Shadow of Destiny? Though I don't own it, I could borrow it. |
