Some Capcom trailers, including Irregular Hunter X.
With awesome rock remixes.
And playable Vile.
Playable. Vile.
PLAYABLE FUCKING VILE
I now wish I had a PSP. I so need to get my Vava on. |

I do. That is pretty cool, it gives me at least one reason to want to own a PSP. |

Looks like I got my wish! http://www.s-f.co.jp/soft/ds/wizardry/index.htm
Now it only has to come to the US...
Does anyone happen to know exactly why Japan went absolutely batshit over Wizardry? They seem to have made about eight thousand spinoffs for it. |

I suspect it's because that Japanese gamers love RPGs in general and that Wizardry is a pretty well-made series that came out long before most of the usual contenders.
Wizardry and Ultima were the ur-Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior, with both having a lot of influence in the genre. |

Too bad you guys don't get a large check of federal loan/grant money for school so you can squander it by buying whatever Sony tells you should buy, whether or not you can actually justify spending the money on it at all.
You know, like me. |

Wow. Me too. And you're right about Loco Roco, as well. That looks wondrous. I want a video.
You have a very clear taste in games. I would like to see a top twenty list.
I wonder how many people here are like that, where all of the games that they get really excited about are very much of the same type. |

AC04 is kind of a shooting gallery that proves god loves us and wants us to be happy. Each mission is kind of like a flight plan, so when zings go wrong, there's a lot more weight. There's also some real lovely music, so even the slower missions seemed more.. meditative to me.
AC5's mission structure is more "Okay, you're in the middle of an attack on your base, scramble! Oh jesus, now you have to escape through canyons IN THE SAME PLANE FUCK I THOUGHT I WAS PICKING A PLANE FOR FIGHTING GROUND TROOPS OH GOD GO THROUGH THE SELECTION MENUS FASTER MEN ARE DYING OUT THERE" and so on.
I've always preferred 04, but hell! They're cheap! You could get the pair for $30 with a little luck on ebay, and they're kind of lateral to each other, so they both stand apart pretty well. |

Apparently coming to the US as "Drill Dozer," around mid-November. Of course, the import's only $10 more than domestic prices this time... |

Oh boy, this'll be about as close as I can get to being on topic with this, but I also recently finished a music video. Alright, I'm sorry, there is nothing to do with video games in this post.
I listened to The Advantage and Neskimos while working on the effects though. Does that count?
Nice video, dess. It made me realise I really haven't even skimmed the surface of my ROMs yet. What the hell was the game with the eyeball on legs? |

Has anyone mentioned that the Japanese version of Gyakuten Saiban/Phoenix Wright had the English localization built in? Because that's so awesome but it's apparently week old news?
That totally makes me want the limited edition!
Of course, I would need a DS first. And to know about it before the limited edition was sold out.
So I don't know how to feel about this! I'm at a loss. |

So apparently the unreleased N64 game that was being slightly hyped up on the Lost Levels is in fact O.D.T..
If you look in the box of crayons, colored pencils and markers I keep for just these occasions, you will find a rather unpleasant brownish-red I've labeled "disappointed". Hand that to me, please! If you cannot find that, I will settle for the mellow and somewhat frayed green one labeled "unexicted".
I am a highly negative person being highly negative! I think it's time for bed. |

Here are the rumored specifications for the Nintendo Revolution, as revealed by a game designer from European studio Factor 5. In case you haven't been keeping score, they're the ones that salvaged the Turrican series after Accolade mutilated the first game on the Genesis.
http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000077060215/
Mmm... beefy! Oh yeah, this'll be more than powerful enough for me, if these tech specs are the real deal. However, I can't imagine how Nintendo will be able to sell this hardware for less than $300 and still turn a profit.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Go check out http://www.game-science.com/.
The Game Boy Micro sold 170,309 units last week (12-19).
1 - Game Boy Micro - 170,306
2 - Nintendo DS - 72,167
3 - PlayStation Portable - 70,152
4 - Playstation 2 - 24,396
5 - Game Boy Advance SP - 11,147
6 - Game Cube - 1,882
7 - Game Boy Advance - 624
8 - Xbox - 109
HAHAHA XBOX YOU ARE NICHE AND UNPOPULAR! HAHAHAHAHAHA! Considering it would take 1700 GBMs to fill up an Xbox, it's actually pretty understandable that the GBM is outselling the Xbox 1700:1. HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA |

If that's true we can pretty much put the multiplatform issue to rest. It'd be like putting Ninja Gaiden Black on a Dreamcast. You can make a joke about the fishing rod controller here if you want. |

there's an official Castlevania website now. Nothing interesting yet, but there is promise of a "series timeline" that might be cool when it's up! |

It really boggles my mind, especially given apple's stated reason for leaving ibm was performance. Even though it's probably about making laptops faster, as well.
Has anyone gotten the x86 version of tiger yet? |
