I like it! In fact, I think I like all the new names. They've all got that new car smell to them. |

Well I disagree! I don't really like them. |

You're just not familiar with them, I bet. Give it a little time and I'd wager they start growing on you. |

| Did anyone else notice the link to "dreaming in an empty room" (as featured in the killer7 review is broken? The files all seem to be renamed to .htmldead for whatever reason. Increased mystery maybe. |

It's always been like that. Nobody understands why, however. |

I concur It returns! Hopefully, many more times..

| I like'em. A lot, even ! More finesse than in the previous ones. Getting rid of a KOF + Asuka combination for a Real Bout + Fighter's History can only be a positive thing. |

Whoa. Still not fixed?
...
I really like a couple of the new names. A couple of others were better in that window before you enabled posting and you changed them again.
Really Good one: Writer's History Dynamite
Good ones: Real Bout Forum Fury Special, Thread Fighter Zero
Not-great one: Forums of Dark Kombat
Confusing one: Forum Axe: The Duel
"Real Bout Forum Fury Special" sounds to me more like a general forum -- especially given the lack of a specific topic reference. What were the interim names? I remember rather liking them. |

| If you're suggesting that I think inteligibility, suitability, and cleverness beat out obscure reference, you are correct. |

Zing!
Personally, I can take or leave the lot of 'em. What I'm worried about is the Traditional Topic Names. I'm sure we'll have the News topic, the What Game We Played Today topic, the Introduction topic, etc., but I'm worried they'll have names that make me grit my teeth every time I see them. |

I was kind of hoping that "Forums of Dark Kombat" would get a sort of WTF? reaction regardless of familiarity...enough that they would recognize that it's the board for general stuff even before they see the "general" in the subtitle.
One of the interrim ones was a Super Robot Taisen reference...but most agreed to stick with the fighting thing.
Forum Axe was just a COOL NAME (I though) that I decided to use for Force Feedback...because I liked the image of a FORUM AXE.
Ah yes...originally, Forums of Dark Kombat was an Asuka reference...except I ended with Limit Over...which is actually an obscure doujinshi patch that was made for Asuka 120% Burning Fest Limited. I figured maybe try moving away from Asuka for a bit... |

Well. Okay!
At least the subtitles help out with the head-scratchers. |

all the forum titles get the job done. some more than others, i agree that "writer's history dynamite" is probably the best of 'em. the weakest, "thread fighter zero." too plain and boring, wow a street fighter reference, no one saw that one coming. i suggest sticking a "2 alpha," or better yet "3 upper" in there to spice shit up, and gain a few novelty/obscurity points on the side.
the subtitle for "real bout forum fury special" rocks as well. overall, i much prefer obscure references that i get to functionaity/clarity, it can be a litmus test of sorts for potential members, are you a bad enough dude to post here? |

well there you go, further elaboration is needed to enhance the clarity of the obscure reference then. |

What is SOCKS proxy server? SOCKS is a networking proxy protocol that enables hosts on one side of a SOCKS server to gain full access to hosts on the other side of the SOCKS server without requiring direct IP-reachability. SOCKS is often used as a network firewall, redirecting connection requests from hosts on opposite sides of a SOCKS server. The SOCKS server authenticates and authorizes requests, establishes a proxy connection, and relays data between hosts.
