That's crazy because it's based on the themes of Horror film, and like, sexual undertones are a fundamental part of Horror film!
I totally wouldn't have expected that. |

RE4 is actually a critique of capitalism. In order to achieve happiness (the objective) you must kill and complete menial tasks such as collecting jewelry (labor) which you sell to the merchant so you can better kill and survive to collect. It's all very telling, really.
I hear you can beat RE4 without talking to the merchant, though. |

i've been trying to have a good discussion but all you keep saying is you're right and i'm wrong. and then everyone starts calling names. i just think two people can have sex without there being any sexual undertones. i'm not convinced. |

Look, can we all calm down? A penis is obviously a object of sexual reproduction as it is where the sperm are "transfered" to "love pocket." As you can see we have the word sex. Sex does not need to take place for this to happen. There are two sides to every coin. |

Perhaps this will help clear up any confusion:
And incase that is not enough here is a quote from Science itself: Wikipedia.
In short, this is a known list of sex organs that evolve from the same tissue in a human life.
The glans of the penis is homologous to the clitoral glans, the corpora cavernosa are homologous to the body of the clitoris, the corpus spongiosum is homologous to the vestibular bulbs beneath the labia minora, the scrotum is homologous to the labia minora and labia majora, and the foreskin homologous to the clitoral hood. The raphe does not exist in females, because there the two halves are not connected.

It is here that I begin to lose your intentions. Obviously a disagreement cannot be rationally had on this important topic, so I must conclude you are simply exhibiting the kind of attitude that has made insert credit an infamous group of people in certain circles of the internet. I'm afraid it is too late to go back on your earlier declaration at this time. Please stick to the topic at hand like a civil person.
Your sentience is not at the core of this issue, so I would appreciate it if you would stop trying to troll my thread with such a terrible derailment. I just wanted an intelligent debate. Maybe these forums were not the place?
dessgeega wrote:

Please do not make such bold declarations. This is obviously an opinion based purely in the realm of speculation. If you cannot back up this idea, please leave my thread alone. A link to an interview about the Japanese version would do.

You are contradicting your earlier statement. Please, miss, can you tell me which of your opinions are fact, and which are not? I thought insert credit was more intelligent than this.
dessgeega wrote:

Please stop trying to tell me sex is a part of this game. It is not fact, and I woudl be appalled if you would commit such heresy to memory. instead, let us talk about the cult that runs Silent Hill and how James is secretly a member that killed his wife as a sacrafice to his followers. And don't call them satanic because Sammael is totally different and he is a benevolent being I even asked him once after performing the summoning ritual. |

No, I think you are just reading too much into the game. The developers never explicitly mentioned adding in a layer of sexual subtext so I don't think it's there. Sometimes a penis is just a penis, but that's just my opinion.
*sigh*
You guys just don't know how to actually discuss anything, do you? It's like I'm having to fight back the hive mind where everyone already agrees with each other and don't want to listen to any new ideas. Fuck this place.

Stop trolling my thread, dess. If you want to discuss this intelligently then by all means let us attempt that. However I think you are already set in your ways and have your mind made up on this issue, and therefore intelligent debate is not possible between us. Thank you and good night.

it would be obvious to you if you had read the japanese strategy guide, which clearly states what my intentions are and why they are relevent.

we are not disagreeing, merely having a discussion. you are stating your tragic and wrong opinion, and i am stating my, irrefutably correct, opinion.
so I must conclude you are simply exhibiting
sir, i am fully clothed. i am trying to have an intelligent discussion, meanwhile you are casting aspersions on my character. i guess this is that "insert credit feel" that insert credit is so notorious for.
I must agree with this element
i disagree.
Your sentience is not at the core of this issue
you see, if you read the employee's handbook found in the pocket of the nurse in the hospital, on page 133, you will clearly see "sentience is of the utmost importance" (japanese version only, my translation). so you see that sentience is of the utmost importance.
This is obviously an opinion based purely in the realm of speculation.
the stock market (japanese version) is irrelevent to this discussion. please stop trying to derail my thread.
the subject of sexual themes.
i am unconvinced that sexual themes have sexual undertones.
I have been playing Silent Hill 2
i disagree. you have clearly been playing the american version of silent hill 2. if you had been playing the japanese version, you would clearly see that i am right and we would not be having this discussion.
is this the "insert credit" flavor i have heard so much about? i came here looking for a serious discussion, but clearly all you people know how to do is talk about what tim rogers had for breakfast this morning.
maybe now you'll go and post about how you put strawberries in your cornflakes today. i just can't stand the self-importance of that guy.
go on, tell me i should be talking about the game. the irony will probably make my head explode. |
