http://www.petitiononline.com/sstenka/petition.html
As if you aren't all aware, SNKP intends to keep blood out of their latest release, Samurai Shodown 6. I intend to use strength in numbers to prevent this overly cautious move to a great franchise.
Even if you don't support my views, sign it anyways. It will help my cause and hopefully raise SNKP's eyebrows. |

I have to admit that I don't see the logic behind this (the request for signing the petition regardless of possible disagreement, not the petition itself).
Of course, I don't actually understand the appeal of blood in fighting games period. |

You're well aware of my feelings on the subject. Let me just remind you that:
- Online petitions don't work.
- No one cares what foreigners who will not play the game for months, if ever, think.
- Honestly, it's not a big thing. You should worry more about if the game is good or not.

Hell, you can cut people in half in that game.
Still, a petition is pretty damn futile. |

A petition pretty much all we got unless someone can come up with a way to directly communicate with SNKP on this issue.
Even if you don't like petitions, if you find something fishy with the lack of blood in a Samurai Spirits game, sign it! |

There are so many problems with this topic that I don't want to bother addressing.
I advise people to just ignore this thread. |

Just signed it.
You aren't going to get anywhere with the petition, but at least you care enough to do something about it.
CENSORING BLOOD FROM FIGHTING GAMES THAT FEATURE SAMURAIS CUTTING EACH OTHER IN HALF WITH BIGASS SWORDS IS SILLY.
Not dumb or stupid - just silly. Silly in a way a child can be silly.
edit: the only way this would work is if you asked people to refrain from buying the game altogether until SNKP got their shit together. I'd like to see 6 sell half the copies of 5. THEN we'd see what the morons would do. |

No kidding. Didn't that thread have something like 56 pages to it?
Anyway, I'd like to point to those who don't know that the petition is about adding blood into the original, Japanese version of the new SamSho game, not censoring the US edition. Anyone who's played the latest KOF ports on PS2 or read any of Ben Herman's statements should know that SNK has come to their senses regarding censoring silly things like guns and blood (Metal Slug 3 on Xbox would've been hilarious with this kind of censorship).
As for my stance, I see this as a stylistic choice on the part of SNK. The newest SamSho, like KOF 98, is a non-canon dream match game with a Japanese festival-like atmosphere. Think of it as making a game about a Civil War reenactment. Blood would seen a bit out of place, no? |

Yeah, uh. One fun thing about this thread is that this game he's freaking out about -- it isn't even SS6.
And that's just to start with. |

Abster's been obsessing over the issue of blood being absent from the next Samurai Shodown game, and so he's been trying to rally/persuade people in any other communities he can find to get up in arms about it as well. There's not much more to it than that. |

It's Samurai Spirits Tenka. SNK hasn't ever announced a six.
And also, BorderDown and Shikigami no Shiro II petition for ports to the Dreamcast were sucessful.
edit: I think the petitions were mailed though. |

But is there any proof the petitions actually had any effect, or is it just happy coincidence that people petitioned for the games and they were released? |

All the doubters be silenced. Samurai Spirits Tenka will be called Samurai Shodown 6 outside of Japan.

This is the first official english flyer from the Exime event that Neogamez.net checked out a while ago.
And while I agree that gameplay is the core to a great fighting game, certain distinguishable characteristics help make the series unique among others. |

Guys, Sega's marketing folk decided to add a number to the title. I guess we'd better sign the petition now.
...seriously, just quit it. The Japanese version doesn't even have blood due to the whole festival theme, so it doesn't matter if it has a VI tagged to the end of it, all versions will be the same. |

Samurai Spirits Zero was called Samurai Shodown V outside Japan. So obviously the western name means little. Besides, technically Tenka can't be Samurai Shodown 6 since Samurai Spirits 5 doesn't even exist yet. Doubters please keep silent. |

i believe a petition aimed at Disney about their plans for the USA dvd release of Princess Mononoke was very successful, causing the release to be delayed by months so that the Japanese language track could be included.
That is the exception that proves the rule, however, that petitions don't work. |

I'm more concerned whether it will be good or not:[ Besides I never much cared about the blood in SS games ever. I suppose when I was about 13 and SS was out, it was cool looking, but I don't recall it making me like the game more(It didn't need to either, shit had Ninjas and Samurais).
Hopefully with this one they will bring the gameplay up a notch. Just because it's based on Samurai era shit doesn't mean it has to play like it was made then;] |

Up to 151 sigs so far on my thing.
Still though, you'd have to think the lack of blood takes out some of the impact and drama that the games have always had. |

This is still around? Wow, I thought I was gone for a much longer time than this.
Anyway, I remember when I used to play Samurai Showdown on the SNES it had no blood, just the flying sweat from MK. To me the game was still cool, probably because I was totally oblivious to the fact that the game had blood in the first place, but still. If this one doesn't have any blood, I doubt it will hurt anything. |
