Anyone ever play the rumble pack enabled versions of Mario 64 and Wave Race released in Japan? Apparently Wave Race went a bit over-board, but I'd love to play Mario with rumble pack. It would add so much more, you know! Create a truely cinematic experience!
I ALMOST got Wave Race 64 Shindoo from Play-Asia a while ago, but someone beat me to it. :/ I want it because some tunes got remixed, and also keeping all of the differences between the Japanese and US versions. |

So, my thought process went "this sounds interesting, but what I'm really in the mood for is a game with Strider zip-tubes. So I'll download it first, play it for a little bit, then download Strider for some sweet zip-tube action.
First level: STRIDER ZIP-TUBES!!

The added cutscenes aren't that great, really.
Not long after the PS1 version was released, someone had posted the videos on Usenet. Don't know if you could find them these days. Heck, these days you'd probably have an easier time just finding the CD isos and downloading *them* instead. |

It would be really good if some could answer this question for me:
Does Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Collection (PAL) include Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike? I would like a PS2 version of 3S very much, but if I get this and it doesn't have it I will cry. |

A series of KSK games, utilising their standard fight system (which name translates to 'lotsa people bashing their brains out' or something like that). PC88/PC98, prolly some ports to other systems.
Hoot packs for them (and all other PC98 KSK games I AFAIR) are available at my site:

Oh, neat. I keep meaning to catch up with HOOT stuff (thanks by the way, for all that), but I keep getting sidetracked. I'll check out the sets, see if any them feature the same kind of awesome work that went into the SFC version of First Queen.
Thanks! |

Yesasia.com has free shipping offers and the prices for some titles are cheaper than Play-Asia. I've made two orders with them and haven't had any problems. |

Ok, you need to know a little more about PAL games. Standard PAL resolution is 50hz, where standard NTSC is 60hz. Euro is slowly moving over to have 60hz standard for stuff (someone from EU can probably explain better) so many many PS2 games work as an import if they have a 60hz option (which is usually the case if the game was also released widely in JP).
My best advice is just to ask someone from EU about a specific game and if it has a 60hz mode. Then it will import just fine. |

| Yeah, that's probably the best advice. I guess my confusion comes from the fact that the UK games I've gotten have had 60hz modes, like Shenmue 2 for the DC, so I guess I assumed all games had that luxury. |

| Does CDloader V7 still work on a modern PS2? It has alot of options to run NTSC games in PAL, and I use it alot on my composite-only television, but also has a switch to NTSC video. |

No problem. Given your liking of obscure, awesome japanese soundtracks, you should find Hoot's offering to your liking. Also, you might contribute something (track translations, timed playlists or the like) *nudge*nudge*wink*wink*.
Also. speaking of First Queen, there's a WIP psf pack for FQ4 on Lawrence Lin's PSF site. Might be an interesting thing to compare this with the Hoot pack. :) |

the xbox PAL version of SFII anniversary has SFIII, but the ps2 version doesn't.
thew only reason i can think of that a non-european would want to play PAL ps2 games, is the d3/505 gamestreet ones, and they all have a 60hz mode.
ps1 memory cards are really, really common in england (but that's no help to you)
here's a question: when i start seeing 2001-style monoliths in various locations in panic! (on mega cd), does it mean i'm near the end of the game? |
