I need some back issues of Edge magazine. In particular, I need issue 162, but I'd like anything from 158-162 since I missed all of those. In fact, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on any issues from the last several years — I only started buying the magazine last year, and it's fucking porn. It's really the only magazine I look forward to buying anymore. I mean, I still pick up an issue of Play on occasion (Heather's article on NiGHTS in the current one is nice, plus the Contact review), but more and more I find myself disappointed with them lately (lately meaning the last few years), what with all the pointless features on bands like Staind. Anyway, yeah, Edge. Still very good and very relevant to the direction of interest in videogames I myself have taken.

So, can anyone help me? I guess Edge doesn't sell its own back issues, so I have to rely on eBay or begging people on videogame forums to send me theirs. I'll pay for shipping, of course, and if you demand to set a price on the actual magazine we'll see what we can agree upon.

Oh, I'd really like to have any of the variations of issue 128 (the 10th birthday issue) or those EQUIP and RETRO special editions. I bet the issues from late '98 are full of pretty pictures, too (seriously, if there's an issue containing any combination of Ocarina of Time, Xenogears, MGS, and Panzer Dragoon Saga, I need it). I'd like to see what they wrote about Ico (#104) and Rez, too, if anyone has those issues. Wishful thinking, I'm sure...

Guys I can buy a game which one do I buy:
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon
Dragon Quest Rocket Slime
Harvest Moon DS
I haven't heard anything about Harvest Moon DS, so it makes the choice a bit hard.

I really am starting to like Pokemon MD. Rocket Slime I have heard is very fun yet very easy. I will be picking it up soon. My wife says that the Harvest Moon DS is good. The story has a lot of potential, and is more humorus that usual. There are a lot of marrage options. The game utilizes both screens and buttons well. Overall a very good adition to the Harvest Moon series.

I would get Pokemon... but that's because I did!

Shapes here is the million dollar question:
What did your wife think of the GC Harvest Moon? Because I was only a mildly big fan of it, but loved the PSX/N64 version.

Dumb question, maybe:

Anyone know where I can get Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne for $50 or less? New and sealed would be nice, but I'll take used if it's in more or less flawless condition (and it'd be nice if it came with the soundtrack).

I have no idea where my copy went (I guess it could have been stolen, but I'm not sure how or when or by whom), and I'm a little upset!

Here's taking a stab in the dark.

All GameStops I've gone to have had at least one of them. It's going for 40, because GameStop loves to inflate the price on Atlus games.

Also, apparently all GameStop/EBGames are putting up the new reprints of ZOE2 as "Used". Wtf is that about?

Same as you just said. They apparently gut 'em so they can reap the most profit off them.

They did the same with the Gitaroo Man and Rez reprints, too.

This is not true at all. If you brought a new game in and sold it to EB/GS then it would be opened, the insides removed, and the box placed on the shelf with the rest of the used games. When Game Quest does this it is the same process just much, much larger. These reprints are not "new" games, and due to law they can't be sold as such by EB/GS. This was what I was informed of by GQD, not EB/GS either.

QUICK QUESTION: Has anyone been able to make a Wii pre-order yet that is promised a system?

Does anyone know if the Wii will come with a component cable or not? Half the Internet seems to be like "Yes hurray!" and the other half is like "OH NOES IT DOSENT." The official Nintendo site, predictably enough, is of no help at all.

I have a very strong feeling of NO, seeing as the GCN even phased out hardware component support.

Nah, they're going to support 480p officially, so I'm sure you'll see it in stores.

It'll just be overpriced since they probably know they can get away with charging alot (see ebay) for just the GC component cords.

Though, if they Wii component cords end up being the same as the onces the GC uses (I hope), we may be able to find them for a more fair price.

I got Astro Boy: Omega Factor! It really is quite good. I was frustrated at first because I thought I couldn't skip the story sequences (should I? or does it give a fairly concise history of Astro Boy?), but then I realized that I could just press start and be done with it. Double air-dashing is great! In other news, I have a PC-Engine Duo sitting around that I kind of want to get rid of. The CD drive doesn't work, though that could be repaired with the help of some guys. The Hucard player is just fine.

Actually, you should read the story if you want to get 100% of the game! Also, the story's not too bad, and it's actually a different story than the anime or manga.

The story contains valuable hints to progress the story once you get later on in the game. I liked the story—it's more involved than it seems at first impression.

Yeah, once you "finish" the game for the first time, it starts to get really interesting and it makes you WANT to replay previous levels.

I think the M3 is the only one that really cooperates with Macs because it's just drag-and-drop.

There was a thread about this, once! I think this is it. It's down torwards the bottom. Look for screwtapes posts. I would have found the exact one but am too lazy U_U

Hey, does anyone know what's going on with Genesis Collective? The site has always been kind of funky, but right now it seems to be nearly gone. It'd be a real shame if that happens, especially since I love game encyclopedia sites.

The short answer is that you need the patcher program for these things:

1. To play commercial DS games.

2. To use a function similar to save states in emulators. Also maybe some GBA games won't work without patching, but my experience is that they are actually less compatible after being patched (which I have done only for some games that have no battery save, and therefore I do it to save highscores--better than using the actual cart, in the end.)

NEVER sell Saturn Bomberman. Both out of principle and financial means.

It is the sole and justifiable reason to devote a drawer in the living room to 10 Saturn controllers.

SD Snatcher is a RPG with several subplot additions to the general story.
Also:
SD Snatcher actually continues the story after the events of the Act 2 and takes the game to a slightly different conclusion than the later CD-ROM versions.

It's been translated, so gogogo.
