| Re: Ace Combat. I rented X (the PSP one) on a whim recently and had a hell of a time, so I bought Ace Combat 5 a couple days ago. The story is great and cheesy in a Top Gun-meets-Animu way, the graphics are nice, and blowing the fuck out of the aircraft and tanks and shit of a fictional country at top speed, practically skirting the ground, is fuckin' sweet. |

I played a match of SmackDown vs Raw 07 before work this morning.
"The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes vs. Shaun Daivari w/The Great Khali in his corner.
I smacked him in the belly-welly, and then hung 'im up on the Tree of Woe.
Then Khali ran in and tombstone'd me. |

| Killzone: Liberation, which is both very original and at the same time very pat. It's good. |

I should add that if you ever get the retro itch, stay the FUCK away from part 3. They seriously butchered it for the US release. Part 2 on the other hand, is remarkably modern for such an early PS1 game. |

I remember playing a lot of the Ace Combat 2 demo that came with my PS1 back when I got it for Christmas in '97. Great times were had in just that one level, too bad I can never find the game because I'd buy it up in a heartbeat if it were cheap enough. Ace Combat 4 is pretty top notch too, and the only game in the series I've played to completion. Haven't checked out part 5 yet. |

I discovered that Soul Calibur II for the Xbox 1 supports 720p today.
It looks very very nice. I love you, Namco. |

| I finally beat Suikoden II (It was behind a heater for about two years and amazingly still worked perfectly), it seems much easier than I remember Suikoden being. |

75 hours into my Suikoden marathon (16 hours for Suikoden I, 44 for Suikoden II (wasted a lot of time with Richmond)) and I can now see how Suikoden II and III are a pair of sorts. Actually they're more of a point-counter-point. The moral of Suikoden II is that peace can only be found under a single united government that can crush any thoughts of regional nationality. It reminds me a lot of Hero, which in turn would likely remind me of some classical chinese litterature if I were better read.
Suikoden III, on the other hand, preaches that peace can only be found through negotiation and compromise and that different people should have different nations to keep them mingling and, as a result, fighting. It's isolationism vs expansionism and jingoism, only with magic and elves. |

The Legends in this years game are pretty good. Bam Bam was a pleasant surprise but I'm desperately wishing Vader is a legend in the next SvR.
Oh boy, they've really screwed up the weight detection system. Cruiserweights can't lift heavyweights so Gregory Helms can't lift or strike Carlito. Sometimes I wonder about Yukes. |

Bam Bam vs Tazz FTW.
Yes, it's annoying that Super Crazy can't lift Joey Mercury.
I did, however, manage to Dead Line Mizark Henry with Kid Kash after repeated bludgeonings with a trashcan.
I have to put class limits on my online matches.
I'm tired of getting beasted on by Khali.
I'm glad Yukes decided to appropriate Fire Pro Wrestling's stamina system. I'm glad the range of grapples has been increased with the inclusion of analog stick control.
Are you playing this on Live? |

The only game I've really played since beating Kirby: Canvas Curse a couple of weeks ago is Ouendan.
I am not sure I'll ever beat Ready Steady Go. |

| I just got my ass handed to me in SD vs Raw 07 by what I can only describe as "Shin Candice Michelle." The angle my character (Kid Kash) is in is so bad it's worse than the Gobbledygooker, Kane as a necropheliac, and every miscarraige storyline combined. It's Vince Russo-esque. |

Earth Defence Force 2 co-op
I played a whole lot of that level where you fight the baby Godzilla, I drove the tank, while my friend shot at Godzilla from on top of the tank,
so fun. |

well i can beat misery, the doctor and the second doctor sometimes but normally by then my weapons are bullshit.
now everytime i try even making it to the second doctor all of my weapons are low as fuck, and i don't have any missiles left. and then i die.
i'm pretty bad at this. |

Does Sonic 3 make a return to Sonic 1's sort of difficulty?
I mean, I love the style of the first Sonic, vacant at times as it may be, but holy shit, Labyrinth Zone alone is giving me more shit than the entirety of Sonic 2 ever did.
It's not a bad thing by any means, I just find it interesting how, uh, toned down, Sonic 2 is in comparison to its predecessor.
I guess it's important to note that as a kid I spammed the hell out of the debug code when I played these games, so this is the first time in a good while that I'm playing them "for real." |

Guys, Isabella in Dead Rising is voiced by Mei Ling from Metal Gear Solid
This game gets more amazing all the time. We should talk about it. |

Having (at the moment) lost interest in most every console game I own, I've turned towards free games that work on my Mac.
N has been getting some serious play.
And yesterday I found this game called the Battle for Westnoth, a pretty good Master of Magic/Heros of Might and Magic clone. It's... really well done. |

Some of this shit on the Sega Genesis Collection has not aged well at all.
I mean, it's not like Altered Beast and Golden Axe were ever good games to begin with, but still. |

People sometimes argue that Golden Axe is a good game and I am :( .
I've been playing Final Fantasy III (SNES) lately. It's my first time through the game. I like it! |
