Isn't it an inevitable process, though? Once a new form of media becomes used, sexually-explicit material comes rather quickly after. Magazines and Play Boy, Movies and Debbie Does Dallas, Internet and a plethora of fetishes for people to draw upon and share.
Not that porn on (or in! Remember strip poker games from Commodore64 on?) video game systems is new. Before this you could upload public domain ROMs for SNES and, assuming you had the equipment, transfer that image over to a cartridge and let it run through its slideshow. Or more recently, modding an X-Box to use the built-in hard drive as an 'entertainment center'.
Although with the controversy over "Hot Coffee" in SA, you may be right about American government's actions towards that. Not that it will change much.
Doesn't a modder's first thoughts go something like, "How can I put porn on this?" |
