Starmen.net says that Itoi wrote in his blog that he's going to Kichijoji to work on "it," where Brownie Brown (who made this, translated version here) is located.
Itoi has been rumored to be working with Brownie Brown on Mother 3 since Nov. 2004.
Also, that "Dr. Andonuts" flash thing is just some other game. |

Another false hope dashed hopelessly.
Also, is the new SoM what that mystery page with the tree ended up being? |

SMB in 2.5D
Kinda like that isometric Metroid done in voxels, only this one is just sprites on polygons. It's kind of a fun exercise. |

BREAKING NEWS: Last night I dreamt that a magazine ad revealed that the next Chrono game would be "Chrono Disciple". It was about some strange religion appearing in the CT universe and then the religion somehow spills ten years into the past (AD 1000 or whatever) and you have to go around fixing things. And Magneto was in it.
It was for PSP, used the same basic engine as the original (so 2D and whatnot), with the only notable improvement being that you could....switch who was the lead party member at the touch of a button?

It looks like Guitar Freaks esque-gameplay. But at a horrible skewed camera angle which from the looks of the 10 seconds of jumpcut laden gameplay footage in the trailer will prove to be a completely unnecessary pain in the ass.
So yeah I think I'll be pulling a fire and buying the PS2 version of Guitar Freaks & Drummania V, thanks. Unless the Guitar Hero controller works with Guitar Freaks. That would rule. |

what's new?
I think Mount & Blade is amazing, but it's also at just the agonizing point where it's good enough for me to want it, but not good enough for me to want to paint it. And like Blockland, the fan community seems to be a bit of a mess.
I did have a nice time fantasizing of the game having multiple battle themes based on fighting alone/with others/with your troops against a few soldiers/a lot of soldiers/dragons riding on dinosaurs, though. |

The camera angle is also how amplitude works. And yes, it did unnecessarily complicate business. The controller is SAID to be GF-compatible though I don't remember where I heard that and wouldn't trust it! |

I don't mean to derail, but why is it a mods only thread now? I seem to remember it being open to the public prior to the forum crash.
More on topic, I thought that EB's gameplay was really pretty good. I'm amazed that more RPGs today don't allow you to approach your enemies from behind and get the initiative. |

You know, given that Naka is constantly being asked about his older games (Sonic 1-3, NiGHTS), you'd think that would clue the guy in on a few things. |

A few notable staff announcements for Children of Mana!
Hopefully we'll get "Minstrel Saga" Ito and not "Sword of Mana" Ito. And more Iwata isn't a bad thing. Dunno the third guy, though.

It's the same deal with Sonic 3... Sonic 3 is literally half a game. Sega management back then wanted the game out at a certain time and we only had half the stages done, so we had to put the leftovers into Sonic and Knuckles. So when you bought S&K and attached it to Sonic 3, you got the whole of what Sonic 3 was planned to have been.

Peter Jackson is producing the film based on the videogame Halo.
uwe boll has nothing to do with it.
Generally videogame movie news is completely uninteresting, but Peter Jackson has won shittons of awards and everyone loves him, which is different from the way most videogame movies work. I wonder who he'll get to direct it. Forgive my ignorance, but does halo have any thing to offer in terms of narrative? Will this film, too, delight and induce vomiting in audiences by using "FPS" shots as in Doom? |
