You know, given that Naka is constantly being asked about his older games (Sonic 1-3, NiGHTS), you'd think that would clue the guy in on a few things. |

A few notable staff announcements for Children of Mana!
Hopefully we'll get "Minstrel Saga" Ito and not "Sword of Mana" Ito. And more Iwata isn't a bad thing. Dunno the third guy, though.

It's the same deal with Sonic 3... Sonic 3 is literally half a game. Sega management back then wanted the game out at a certain time and we only had half the stages done, so we had to put the leftovers into Sonic and Knuckles. So when you bought S&K and attached it to Sonic 3, you got the whole of what Sonic 3 was planned to have been.

He does seem remarkably oblivious. And bewilderd. What planet does he live on, anyway?
I think this explains or illustrates a lot about the man. |

Peter Jackson is producing the film based on the videogame Halo.
uwe boll has nothing to do with it.
Generally videogame movie news is completely uninteresting, but Peter Jackson has won shittons of awards and everyone loves him, which is different from the way most videogame movies work. I wonder who he'll get to direct it. Forgive my ignorance, but does halo have any thing to offer in terms of narrative? Will this film, too, delight and induce vomiting in audiences by using "FPS" shots as in Doom? |

I'm a Marathon fan boy so bascially agree with everyone else here. However, Halo had an entertaining and interesting plot that would fit an action movie (in fact, it was better than most action movies I've seen) so I think it could be good.
I haven't played Halo 2 properally so I can't vouch for that one. |

Is being unoriginal the same thing as being worthless? What did Tim say about "The Scarlet Letter" and the modern notion of value? |

I hope everything is retranslated one more time.
And that the graphics are updated, like in the WSC version of FFIV.
And the sound effects don't sound screwy like in the PS versions. I hated that so much. |

Secret of Mana is not unoriginal, mind you. It just... you know, single player isn't all that hot. It's best experienced as a journey with friends.
So says I. |

I'm agreeing with Toups here. OH GOD NO
The experience is clearly made for more than one player. The Secret of Mana series is everything I like about MMORPGs, just without the idiots to screw the whole experience up. I think we can agree on this? |

I was just looking at the list of DS games Nintendo apparently announced, smiling at Magical Vaction 2 and FF3, wincing at Tales DS, cheering Gyakuten Saiban 3, etc.
Then I saw this: Dracula Castlevania (Konami)
Think this means they've already started work on the next CV for DS? Or has that been confirmed? (I know it's been planned, but as far as I know this is the first official sign it's coming) |

CHILDREN OF MANA!
http://ds.ign.com/articles/656/656152p1.html
Interest +1
Aside from this more reasonable date, the latest issue of Famitsu offers a few details on Children of Mana. The game will feature multiplayer play, where different players will work together in order to achieve actions that are not possible in single player mode. You'll be able to, for instance, hit your partner characters to knock them over a fence. Division of labor is a big part in multiplayer play, which is itself one of the main focuses of the game.
Interest -1.

Its supposed to be a prequel of sorts I believe, showing her how she became the super agent that she is. Though I honestly don't feel there was enough compelling substance to warrant such a character take in the first place, but what do I know. |

I don’t think that’s the way you’re going to play FIFA. I don’t think it’s the way you’re going to play Madden. I don’t think it’s the way you’re going to play racing games.
He's got a point there.
But you guys didn't really expect the head honcho to give the competition credit, this close to system launch, did you? |

More Mother 3 stuff.
Basically, Itoi, some people from NOJ, Brownie Brown and HAL submitted a patent for an RPG
If you follow this link, then put A in Box 1 followed by 2004-321362 and press the bottom left button, it takes you to the patent. Has some interesting pictures, one of which is a gamecube. Also, it talks about a battle system that rewards BGM-based button presses, which was originally planned for the N64DD version.
I mean, my frothing increased.
Also I followed a starmen.net post to Brownie Brown's website and looked at their staff pictures. I trust that their DS devkits and seemingly genial atmosphere means that it'll be a good game. |

No, but I didn't expect him to say anything that stupid either.
Hold the fucking controller horizontally and TURN IT LIKE A GODDAMN STEERING WHEEL. Don't just jut your hands out into the air like a Cyborg, either. Relax your forearms, place them on your thighs, and turn the controller sideways and gently move the thing like you would a steering wheel.
Move the footie guy with the D-Pad, kick by flicking the stick in the direction you want it to go.
I don't know how to play Madden in the first place, so I'll let EA figure that out.
And that Itoi shit is AWESOME. |

The Sting game countdown page now has some real neat sounding music. I wonder who composed it.
