i'd like it more violently pink, but hey.
i'm not sure this is news, but just in case any fellow europeans are interested in this, earth defense force 2 (or the chikyuu boueigun 2 or however that's spelled), sandlot's developed and jiji's much-pimped alien genocide simulator, should be released in at the very least spain next month, as "global defense force". (there were some rumors about a release via 505gamestreet some time ago, and then d3 europe came up, but i hadn't heard anything definite for quite some time.) |

i don't think this has been mentioned, but there's a new Rockman RPG coming to the DS. apparently it's called Shinsei Rockman ZN, and takes place in the same universe as the EXE series (but, like ZX, is set much further in the future).
you can see some artwork here. it's...yea. i haven't seen any screenshots yet, so it's hard to tell if this will be yet another mindless update to the GBA series. although part of the "message from the dev. team" says it's a "Data Action RPG," so my guess is yea.
however, since there's a huge emphasis on the idea that the cyberworld is now all connected wirelessly, maybe they'll do something interesting with the DS wifi.
Edit: also, here's a translation of a message from the EXE team (i.e. PR bullshit). i can't tell for sure, but i don't think it's a translation of the current message on Capcom's site, so it may have been from a few days ago. |

Personally I would be happy with either Battle Colisseum or even '94 Rebout.
Whatever happened to '94 Rebout? I never found out why it was cancelled. I thought it was pretty much done and ready to go when that announcement came. |

Basically they felt that it had been delayed too long and didn't offer enough value, so they'd missed the short window when anyone would actually buy it.
I did suggest to them earlier that it'd be a hard sell, and that they'd be better off packing it with another game or saving it as a promotional give-away of some sort. |

But I'm not one to think that SNK USA still isn't capable of fucking something up. I'm pretty sure the only reason Neowave didn't get a PS2 release in the US is cos SCEA wouldn't allow it. Not as a stand alone release, anyway.
I just... can't imagine two quality titles like KoF XI and Battle Coliseum being released together in one package. That would just be too awesome to happen. |

It has been in development for-fucking-evar. It was supposed to have a GBA port as well. I know someone who played a build of the game and thought it was terrible, and not really designed like an STG should be. Anyways, I will buy it probably, but at this point I think it is a game that has been sitting on some developers shelf for about 3 years and MS finally let it get published because they are paying attention to the 360 and it slipped by.
EDIT: PC demo is on their site... also an N-Gage demo.

I tried the PC demo (which emulates a phone) and... it's not very good. It's damn ugly (but hey, it's an N-Gage game) and the gameplay is crap. It's a bit weird, depending on where you are on the screen, the direction of your shots will change. But yeah. Not very good at all.

They fucked up by putting "PSOne books" and "The Best" version cover versions of the games in the box. How lame is that... Almost like they had a surplus over those and just put them in a slipcase.
I can dig the concept of reselling Silent Hill as a collection box, but I would have expected at least some superplay/artwork/making-of DVDs and director's cut versions of the game. Sadly this collection has no added value. |
