JP Silent Hill PS2 complete box.

Man, I kind of want this.
They fucked up by putting "PSOne books" and "The Best" version cover versions of the games in the box. How lame is that... Almost like they had a surplus over those and just put them in a slipcase.

I can dig the concept of reselling Silent Hill as a collection box, but I would have expected at least some superplay/artwork/making-of DVDs and director's cut versions of the game. Sadly this collection has no added value.

Wow, Bullet Witch actually looks decent. The E3 trailer seemed pretty mediocre to me, but those gameplay videos with shit flying everywhere gives off the impression of a potentially fun experience.

Yeah it does look a lot better than the last video. But it needs a bit more Witch with the Bullets.

The Witch is certainly nice, I mean certain insert credit members can attest to the fact that I believe that tall Witches doing things is something I like to watch, but if you are making an action game, you want the game to include elements associated with action. Sharpened fragments of metal being shot at hundreds of miles per hour and cutting people open is definitely more active than a Witch, hence the Bullets.

I like this game! I was originally hopeful that it would turn out good, but the first trailer I saw made it seem like they weren't sure what they were going to do. A lot of action games forget the action part and try to turn it into an adventure game, or a platformer, or a stealth game, and the game becomes unbalanced because of it. The trailers on the website now, though, are pure "shoot stuff, make things bleed and explode, cool magic." If they can keep the adrenaline up, this could be something great in the vein of the Gungrave games, a comparion I don't make lightly.

The witch's design is pretty nice. I mean, even beyond the regular aesthetics of her being hot and having a skimpy costume. The way she moves around, and especially how she does that strafe-jump thing of hers, just feels like it has the right amount of speed and power to it that you would use it during battles as a normal move. She is probably the most fluid character I've seen in a while.

This guy mesmerizes me. He's part of an Activision promo for Call of Duty 3 for Wii.

Silly posturing aside, I can imagine exciting homebrewed engineering feats that extend Wii-mote gameplay to creative new levels. This guy can use a comfortable rifle stock for example.

He looks dangerous though. Maybe someone can strap a knife to the bottom of another controller and put him down.

Bullet Witch makes me want a 360.

But, hey, what's the name of that one enemy there on the website? The one that looks like a zombie using a giant brain as a parachute. I know katakana, but I'll be damned if I can piece together a name that makes sense out of that.

The internet is so predictable.

I've posted several threads about Bullet Witch across several other forums and provided the link to the website.

As I expected, everyone is less than impressed. All they see is a third person action game. Although, I guess I made the mistake of saying it's developed by cavia. I could have stopped there, cos no one knows who the fuck cavia is, but then I mentioned Drakengard and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. These are, of course, games that everyone hates even though they've never played them.

I mean, hell, some guy at EGM gave Drakengard a score of 3 just because there were hints of incest in the story, so the game must suck.

Right?

It is!

I think I still have that issue, too. The reviewer spent what little space he had complaining about the story and how the hero is banging his sister. Then he scored it a 3. Maybe a 3.5.

The Magic Box is reporting a Bleach DS 2 release sometime this winter. No word on whether Treasure is developing it, though. One would hope so!

If the below are legitimate, it certainly looks nicer than the original.

Some scans to look at.

But the style is all.......cartoony now?

I mean, I wasn't that enthused about the original form, although the promise of APCs and stuff like that was fun before.....well, the games that have done it since then.

But back when the HL2 stuff was leaked, weren't there stuff that indicated TF2 would take place in the world of Half-life 2, or at least use the weapons and stuff of it? That would've been awesome.

I'm not so sure about the idea of cartoony TFC. I mean, my dream online FPS multiplayer experience would be cartoony and stuff*, but....I dunno.

Man, I miss playing TFC. And Day of Defeat. And Natural Selection. And the Battlefield 1942 Secret Weapons demo. The group of people I play with off and on is held back by old hardware and a hatred for Steam.

*and have an absurd amount of vehicles and weapons that do strange things and several team-based modes and would also magically scale the engine down to be playable on a computer that could at most play Half-life or so

TFC is cartoony as fuck. It's my favorite fucking game in the entire fucking world and I'll fucking beat you up over the internet if you imply that realism was in any shape or form the way to go.

Most people playing TFC on pubs don't really understand how the game is supposed to work. This video does a good job of showing what high-level offensive play is all about. It's 130mb and the music is awful, but that can't be helped. Most people who watch it will think it looks terrible. Those people are why TF2 was initially going to be so different.

I always go into fanboy mode when Valve of Team Fortress gets mentioned, but I can't help it. I play this game with a group of friends for a couple hours every single day.

pretty much. would like to have seen some of the defenders' work mixed in with it, though. one person's highlight reel only says so much... kinda difficult to tell whether that medic just flat out rules or whether he's also up against sucky defense.

Yeah, definitely. He's motherfucking RIZZO though, everyone knows he rules. Honestly it'd be more interesting to watch full matches. Know where to get good clips of that? Like, the kind with commentary? I'll settle for HLTV if I have to. The one skilled HLTV match I ever managed to get (that didn't crash) was really unbalanced.

The comments for that video actually said that most of the opposing clans weren't really as good as rizzo's clan, so it's a little unfair. They're sure as hell better than any clan I've ever been in though, I'm sure. So long as you remember that 90% of his runs ended in failure, and that most of the time the enemy defense was already decimated by his teammates, it makes more sense.

i'm pretty ignorant on the whole topic of gamer/gameplay videos, sorry.

i just watched, uh, lastdinosaur-APM though. that was really entertaining.

sort of what i was getting at. not to detract from rizzo (or similar players), but "high level" play is a combination of twitch and strategy. a lot of hot shit conc-jumpers aren't patient enough to scope things out before flying across the map... they often get shut down pretty quick when the opposing team makes some effort to shuffle its defenses. i.e. keep moving the SGs around, get creative with pipe-bomb placements, etc.

I didn't say a thing about realism. I'm just down on the same thing as before, only looking like a cartoon.
