How timely it shouldeth be, that now I be hamlet reading.
But with all literary allusions aside, I gotta say it looks pretty damn awesome. Now we have spiderman, sandman, venom and the second green goblin. And, with the Shakespeareanesqued parallels, I'd imagine they'll be a lot more depth in this sequel, and the first two already had a lot of depth for an action movie as it stands. |

Venom wasn't in this trailer.
Spiderman pushing Sandman's head into the train is a great scene. |

yeah! i liked this trailer! definitely makes the movie seem a lot more interesting than the first one... using sandman as the villain is brilliant for a movie where you have to show spiderman's 'dark side' by just having him kick the shit out of someone for a really long time, because sandman can take a beating.
also: (imagination spoilers) it will be sad after spiderman kills sandman and realizes he didnt really kill his uncle. yeah.. oh well even if it is predictable it'll still be cool.
spiderman movies=more faithful to the comics than any other hero movie (in theme and tone if not 'facts'), also they make use of a sensible amount of guyver/power rangers esque costumery, which i think is important for comic book movies. might as well just make the costumes look silly, instead of trying to be all post modern about whether or not they are silly.
oh by the way is anyone as stoked about the iron man movie as i am? i have really, really high expectations for this film. it better be weird as shit. |

Aw man, why'd they have to go and put Hal Fishman into that movie. I thought I'd finally escaped him.
Kirstin Dunst is unfortunately playing a greater role in this movie!
I used to be able to ignore her!
Too much angst and crying girl now!
Still, the action scenes are delightful, and the story looks solid. |

When I heard they were going to cram three bad guys into this movie... well! You know what I thought. However, I'm pretty impressed with how they seem to have woven them all together thematically. Especially the way that Sandman and the black suit are connected: too weak to beat Sandman, feeling angry. Suit comes along and helps you, feeding off your anger. Oh hey, here's your friend whose father you kind of killed two movies ago -- just when you're at your least stable.
This should be interesting. |

There's a split second flash in the television spot of Peter holding someone with platinum blonde/white hair. Felicia Hardy?
Also: I'm in this! I was in a crowd shot last August with the woman. We happened to be walking by while secondary footage was being shot. They told us to point in awe at Spiderman web zipping from the top of a building to the ground. It may have been for the movie-within-the-movie-sequence though. |

Yes.
I like how they did the new suit, I was kind of wondering how it was going to translate into live action, and it's pretty tasteful.
I hope Carnage makes an appearance, some day. |

That's my only gripe with this movie. Why bring in Gwen Stacy after writing her out of the first movie? They could just as easily use another hot-woman-makes-spidey-wanna-cheat character [like Felicia Hardy!] who's existance would make more sense, and maybe have more of a payoff later [mmm Black Cat]. |

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Spider-Man made the guys at Fox take notice and realize they had to step up on X-Men 2.
This one looks good so far, so here's to hoping there's at least some inclusion of the whole Eddie-Brock-becoming-Venom bit in there. I could definitely see it happening as some sort of cliffhanger ending.
Also Steve there is always room for Black Cat >:( |

As much of a grouch I am to comic books sticking to their source material, I liked the Fox Kid's version of Black Cat (she was a female candidate for the Super Soldier serum somehow, maybe I'm wrong) better than the comic's.
I'd like to see a variation of that in a movie.
But yeah. Felicia Hardy. |

There totally is.
There's a teaser with Topher Grace as Eddie Brock Jr. crying "I hate you Peter Parker" right before the symbiote/black sludge drips on him. |

Regardless of what the movie has to offer, this is trailer is really top-notch.
So I'm dying to get my hands on that movie poster that is red from one direction and black from another. Does anyone know anyone that works in a theater that could get a hold of one? |

yeah, this looks like it's not going to continue the tradition of trying so hard not to suck that it doesn't suck. except for that fucking font in the logo. they ripped that off of playstation 3!!
. . .
anyway yeah, speaking of movies for which one froths, the new james bond movie is probably going to be the best movie ever.

It's James Bond Begins. It's almost like Hollywood has decided that creatively flagging franchises might actually need quality to reinvigorate them. |

Well, it's sort of a remake of Casino Royale.
And it does look like it's going to be really great. I like the new Bond. I really liked Pierce Brosnan, but I don't think he had much room to move with the crappy scripts and direction of the ones he was in.
PS: Originally Quentin Tarantino was going to direct this new one. It was even his idea to remake Casino Royale, but I guess it didn't work out. Too bad, 'cause I'd love to see him do a Bond film. |

What the hell does James Bond have to do with Spider-Man?
There is no tradition of the Spider-Man movies not sucking because the first one wasn't so great. |

And if it does well, most of the other ones will get remade too. But I'm pretty certain that they will drop their plans to try out wildly different directors for each installment. If there's been one thing really holding the franchise back is that the folks calling the shots have been far too chickenshit. |

| No they won't. The previous Casino Royale film was an unofficial effort so Casino Royale was regarded as a new frontier. And they just brought back the director of Goldeneye rather than doing a Nolan like Batman. |

| The fun thing here: it at least looks like the new Casino Royale will be basically contemporary, despite being an "origin" story. I wonder then if this will confirm the suspicion that James Bond is a title passed on, rather than a single man. |

| Until now it seems plausible we were simply expected to overlook the way time kept moving on around the characters, the way we do for comic book characters. Now, this doesn't seem quite so plausible! |
