I'm really at sort of a loss for words on this one.
Read for yourself.
That's...Almost impressive in its moral reprehensibility. I mean, just...Wow. |

I have no secrets, I fear.
Still, thread title adjusted for clarity. |

i had read about this a few weeks ago. it's really ridiculous and to top it off, just full of an incredible amount of arrogance. this man has enormous balls, filled with liquid hubris. even if we're to believe this is really just a hypothetical fairy tale he thought of one night (possibly while watching Naked Gun DVDs), it's still completely tasteless.
now, do you think it's going to sell? my cynicism says "yes; lots." |

| So did anyone here see the hidden camera show that OJ did as a pilot? Where, among other things, he dresses up as a homeless guy of a pizza delivery guy that's looking or found bloody gloves or something? I heard that shit was insane. |

Anyone that buys this book or watches any program on TV related to it needs to fucking hurt themselves. I mean, fuck. What the fuck?
Hey inty, you know how I said in that PS3 thread that capitalism is full of questionable ethics, and that reselling a PS3 to rich people was far, far down on the list of injustices? Yeah, this one is a bit higher. |

Actually, it seems to me that this is less directly damaging to anyone and therefore less morally questionable from a simple economic standpoint. And you know that this is going to be a bestseller in america, right? There's no doubt about it. People will eat this up. It will start a new trend. Michael Jackson will definitely release a book about what would have occurred behind closed doors if he had hypothetically raped little children, and child molesters and sex offenders and people who just want to get away with vile acts everywhere will adopt it as a manifesto whose contents are true. They'll probably be right. The dead people involved in OJ's book are none the worse for wear, but what about Michael's neverchildren?
.....
It is really really fucked up though.
Oh man, you guys, I can't wait for South Park to do a number on this. |

i still don't understand why anyone gives a shit about oj.
didn't then, don't now. it's nice the lapd got a bloody nose and mark furhman got fired, and it's too bad no one ever plugged oj for being a wife beating scumbag (another point for gun ownership by women) but seriously, wtf. sure, there's the racial angle, and the "oh we're so divided" thing that reeks of mid 90s nostalgia and utter idiocy (and lives on through "crash" apparently), but the actual import of this case was limited to the victims' families. the intriguing double jeopardy of losing the civil case but winning the criminal case was far more interesting.
unrelated: anyone who links ps3 resales and "injustice" needs to buy a clue. |

| Supposedly all proceeds go to people other than O.J., and the person responsible for approaching him to write the book is a former battered woman who feels that she will have some sort of closure by having him confess to murdering his wife. It's a sick-in-the-head extravaganza. |

I'm not in Holmdel. Just nearby. It's a good thing I don't try to leave the house or socialize much, because I really hate everything about this area. If I get that Narrative Designer position, I can move to Vancouver. That should help. |

| So apparently the woman that contracted this book from OJ released a statement saying she only did it for the symbolic confession. She was a victim of domestic abuse herself. |

| Yeah, well, someone is still making money off of a double homicide, and the American public is still going to get off on reading gory details about a murder that actualy happened, from the man that committed it. |

Who is basically avoiding all legal trouble by adding the word "if" to the title, let's not forget. |

| Yeah, so it's pretty much reprehensible that people are going to be making money by selling this book to people, but like Legato said: balls of fucking steel. This guy is rubbing it in the face of the world that allowed him to get away with murder — maybe even especially those who would not have allowed it, had it been their choice. And that's a whole lot of people! The guy's being a supremely smug motherfucker, and well, rightly so. I mean, he's a maniac, a wife-beater, and a murderer, and he's free. He pulled it off. Utter lunacy of it all be damned, more fucking power to him (not really, but you know, so to speak). |

Here's what we need to do with OJ:
Throw him in a steel cage with Jim Brown.
Seriously. Jim Brown always hated that motherfucker, even back when everyone liked him. And Jim Brown is a god damn badass. |

This is actually how I kind of feel. The whole thing was a fucking circus to began with, why bother getting all riled up over it now. If I was in his position I'd do the same thing, but maybe just call the book "I, OJ Simpson, murdered my wife in cold blood" with the subtitle "a new fiction" |
