I don't want these; you can have them.

1) Running for President
2) Making an RPG

go go go ..!

My friend is making an RPG called Barkley: Shut up and Jam - Gaiden. There is a sidequest where you can run for President of New Orleans. This reminded me of that.

Ging you should make an RPG adaptation of Tim Allen's hit 1997 family film "Jungle 2 Jungle." You can say it is the "Official Game of the Movie" if you would like.

At one point in the game, the hero(es) should enter a strange town where the buildings don't seem quite right. Some plot stuff happens, and a the next segment involves you traversing the town as a dungeon. At the end of this "dungeon", you exit (after fulfilling whatever task the storyline put you on). But wait... you haven't fought a boss yet. No boss in a dungeon? Well...

As you exit, the buildings in the town all combine to form some big beast robot thing, making the dungeon the boss.

Take that idea and run with it. It could be swell.

I actually finally seem to be gaining a sort of lift out of a period of creative stagnancy.

What I'm thinking now, is I want to nail down the main parts of the game's plot or the narrative, because of an idea I had recently.

I think I was reading a thread about a shitty article about why games suck or something, and it occurred to me that games are crap that can't manage to be recognized as a real art form because game developers are lazy. See, if we look at literature, a basic component of that is good storytelling. In addition to that, it developes new ideas within itself, writing dialogue, narrative techniques, etc. Mediums continually develope, plays, movies, animations, and eventually videogames. In shifting mediums, we gain new options and things to consider, but everything is related. A movie isn't great if it disregards that part of it's basis is in literature and photography.

Games, for the most part, seem to often ignore the fact that we're watching it (Except for the unwavering need for higher resolutions and more polygons), and also being told a story when we play. Certainly, a story is much more engaging when you feel like a part of it, and games being games for the sake of being fun is definitely worthwhile, but I feel like I want to try harder than that.

Still, this is a small project if I can get myself to do it, and I'm not going to try to do more than I think I can at this point. I want to try and create something that is simple and enjoyable as my primary goal.

Oh well. Guess there's no choice but to just try to see if someone like me can do as well as I think I might.
