Does anyone know of a particularly ideal browser for viewing insert credit over a tty terminal, so that I can browse insert credit from one computer on another computer over ssh? Preferably something that involves little bandwidth over the shell, since the connection isn't the most stable.
I know there's a ton of tty browsers out there, but I just don't know which ones work well with ssh and are particularly good for ye old phpBB!
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I'm not sure about the tty browser (but I've heard links -- not to be confused with lynx -- is one of the best) but if you're doing this to circumvent a firewall, consider setting up your ssh client for http tunneling instead. This is a little-known but very useful feature of PuTTY and others. Then you can just use Firefox or whatever. |

Nah, it's not a firewall. I can go to whatever sites I want and no one at work will care. Mainly, I just don't want people to know what forums I post on so that I can uuh... write freely.
So, it would be good not to directly access the insertcredit.com IP from my computer at work. Also, the visual obscurity is nice. People will recognize a logo, but no one reads a tty terminal...
Also, I don't want to access this site with my work IP, so ssh-ing to my home computer and posting via that fixes that problem as well!
Hmmm with the http tunneling, perhaps I'll just look for a non-tty browser of some kind that's similarly obscured looking... |
