Here's a hot tip. Seriously. Inside info. (and Viral marketing for my place of employment)
This Thursday, starting at 2 PM (Central Standard Time), Amazon.com has 1,000 XBox 360s that they will be selling for 100 dollars.
Just sayin'. I won't be getting one because I'm already spending money on a Wii. That, and I don't want an XBox 360.

They posted on their site that they canceled that deal, and it was only for the homo(core) model.

Whaaat? I just got a letter about it at work today. Lemme check the site.
I suspect you are mistaken.
Also, the letter they gave me said it was going to be the 399 dollar model marked down to 100.
I'll have to ask about this. The letter was from the GM, so it should be right-on.
The site does say the 299 core system though. Hmmm... |

Also I will mention that I haven't seen a single Playstation 3, or any PS3 games, come through any department of Amazon.
But I've seen a lot of Wiis, and a lot of XBox 360s.
Saw a Gamecube yesterday.
Also somebody ordered a BUNCH of books about sex positions. Geez. |

I hope some people who actually want the system get it this way instead of people who plan on reselling it. It's the sort of good-fortune-knife-in-the-dark strategy that could really make some people happy.
I'm actually going to have to buy a second system in a little bit for some XNA development. |

YEAH jeez guys stop discussing this and wrecking the deal for everybody! i was TRYING to not mention this to anyone so i'd have to compete with fewer of all you riff-rabble. :(
also i heard this is going to be delayed and it's no longer on thursday, rather on friday. just an insider tip for you guys, so you won't have to waste your time hanging around amazon.com on the wrong day. |

To every site on the internet. Its safe to say these 360's are going to sell out in about 2 seconds.
Really just a gamble;[ I want one(For all of 4 games) but I know the odds, if I dont manage to get this deal OH WELL I will just never get one. |

Here's how it happened:
I used Firefox even though it seemed a little slower than IE because in IE the username and password isn't automatically filled out. I also plugged my computer directly into my cable modem last night just to be safe. Moved my mouse closer to my keyboard.
Everyone was IM'ing me and we were all kind of laughing about the whole thing and how crazy this was. Then about 5 minutes until 11 AM I just ignored all messages and moved up really close to the monitor and sat there hitting CTRL+R over and over each time as the page would load. Then right at about 11 AM the page would load but the item wasn't there and I started to panic. But I kept reloading and finally it appeared and the image to get the item wasn't fully loaded but i could make it out so I clicked it. Then it asked me what 12+18 was and to click a user agreement.
Naturally I didn't read the agreement though so for all I know I have sold my soul to god. But uhh yeah. First game I buy will be Gears of War, and then I might get a Hard drive once I learn more about this Xbox. I guess I need a memory card or something too if I can't afford a hard drive.
Oh well I'm pretty fucking happy right now. |

Nah, I'm just kidding. It took 4 minutes for the page to load, and by the time it worked, it said sold out. Oh well. Maybe I might luckout and get one of those Wii systems Best Buy and GameStop are supposedly hiding until tomorrow? |

Nice job! I came pretty close to getting the Costco PS3 bundle the other day but came up empty due to server overload. Glad you could get in on one of the froth-filled deals. I imagine the 360 deal lasted for all of three seconds before they were all gone. |

| I tried it just for giggles, and the server didn't show me a page for 8 straight minutes. It was awesome to participate in, if simply to see Amazon's server get mugged. |
