A spiritual successor to Sonic CD for the Nintendo DS made by Artoon. The stage design will be like Sonic CD, except filling both screens of course. Also, instead of being able to travel back or forward in time mid-stage, you can access a time portal on the RPG / DKC3-like overworld, that way you don't have rings in the middle of blocks and crap.

The mechanics will be closer to Sonic 3 than CD. Sonic / Tails / Knuckles / Timey the Time Tiger will have the spindash instead of the super peelout. Sonic is the fastest, Tails can hover, Knuckles can climb walls and Timey can yiff.

The music will be composed by Yuzo Koshiro or Hideki Naganuma; not certain about who yet.

It will be called Sonic Warp.

2D or 3D (+ 4D being necessary)?

2D. The DS couldn't do 3D even if you had to draw a cube on it with the stylus.

Mario 64 and Chibi Robo DS say otherwise.

I thought this was going to be about the Eureka Seven game, which I hear doesn't have any of the characters from the anime. I want to know if it gives anime fans the finger on purpose, or they had an actual reason to do that.

Either way, the mecha mecha are less cool than Robotech/Macross's transforming mecha. Except for that one that could fly without using a skateboard. That one? Pretty cool.

It's supposed to be a prequel. So yeah, they gave the fans the finger. I really don't get why they don't make a E7 game based on the anime. It would be like SSX with better combat in mid-air. It could be the world's first decent skysurfing/diving game with a bit of effort.

Also, could you imagine trying to do a 3D Sonic on the DS... that wasn't Sonic X-treme.

It couldn't be any worse than Sonic the Yiffstar/GBA disaster.

Meanwhile, I'd like to echo James' love for the under-appreciated S3&K, and want more games like that (level design-wise).
